Payments: We take Visa, MC and Discover, or your check. Charges are displayed on your statement as, “Groussman Studios LLC.” We’re pleased to offer payment plans, layaway and gift certificates, just ask!
Deposits: A nonrefundable deposit for half of overall purchase total is requested when ordering. Payments made in full at the point of ordering are refundable up to 50% of the initial total.
Alterations: Since your clothes will be custom made to fit your body, all efforts will be made to get it just right. If adjustments are needed however, RubyThreads does not do alterations. We can recommend some good tailors for any simple adjustments (Port Townsend clients – receive 10% off alterations at Dockside Cleaners by mentioning “Ruby Threads.”).
Refunds/Returns: The nature of our merchandise limits its value to anyone other than the person it was sized to fit, therefore there are no refunds available for the 50% non refundable deposit amount requested at the time of ordering. Portions paid over 50% are eligible for refund under most circumstances. In most situations, customers may refuse delivery of their clothing if it’s not just right – to allow us to get someone else wearing them so they get cycled into the community. This option forfeits half of the customer’s agreed-upon purchase total. In other words, you don’t have to pay the other half and we keep the clothing.
Lost In Transit?: Our merchandise travels through many ports to reach your doorstep. For years we have shipped through reliable sources and have never had a package go astray. If however your order gets lost, we insist that we are allowed up to 15 months from your order date to fill your order. This would allow for us – on a later trip overseas - to pay our tailors to make you another suit that we would then deliver to you, albeit a bit late!
Shipping: Bids for service will include delivery to your shipping address in addition to the cost of clothing. Shipping from overseas is largely based on weight. Our experience is that a standard five-piece outfit is about $20, but might be a little more for heavier materials (winter coats) or clothing that is significantly larger/heavier than average. RubyThreads offers two shipping options on clothing: a shipping charge of 10% (of your clothing total) will apply to any item a customer wishes to ship by sea, which takes 4 months from the date of our buying trip. A rush charge of 20% will result in your items being shipped by air and will take about a six weeks (a good option if you need your threads for a Spring or Summer event). Once your shipment arrives in the states, we’ll pay the freight to get it to you. Some pick-up/delivery arrangements are also made for convenience.
Taxes: All deliveries to Washington State addresses incur regional sales tax. All taxes due for customs and import duties are pre-paid at the point of shipment by RubyThreads and are included in your sales total.
Customer Service: Rest assured that value your business and friendship. Ruby Threads pledges to practice only fair dealings with our customers and vendors. We pledge to always act in good faith and we insist that the parties with whom we engage strive to behave similarly. Unpaid balances incur a two percent per month interest charge beginning thirty days from the receipt of merchandise.
